very project has different
sets of objectives and constraints, and any successful design has
to reflect this uniqueness. On the other hand, there are
certain qualities that should be common to all projects.
Every
building should be well constructed, durable, environmentally sensitive,
energy efficient and user friendly since the real
success of any design is how well it works with the
people who use it.
We
aim to create a physical environment that is a positive
force, a contribution, to the lives of the people who
live and work within it. We enjoy working with people.
Drawing boards are not really where good designs are
born. The real foundation is in the minds of the people
who will use the buildings. Our work begins not on our
drawing boards or CAD stations, but across conference
tables and coffee cups.
What is good design?
We believe that good design achieves three levels of success.
First, good design solves the objective criteria of the project,
such as program and code requirements, accessibility, buildability, technology,
budget constraints
and respects the site and the people who will use the facility.
Second, good design responds to the lyrical opportunities of the project.
It creates a character that is clearly and
consistently stated throughout the project.
Third, good design assures that the character is appropriate for the project.
